Journal Entry #5

Superfudge is one of the books I have chose written by Judy Blume. This is a book sequel to her other book, Fudge ,which is based on a little boy named Farley Drexel Hatcher, otherwise known as Fudge and his older brother, Peter. In this sequel, Fudge plans to be a bird when he grows up. But Peter is concerned Fudge will grow up to be a pain! Dealing with his brother has been hard, and now his parents wants to move to New Jersey for a year. That's not all, Peter's mom is also pregnant with a new baby. Now Peter is worried that the new baby will be a copy of Fudge!

Judy wrote the book intended for young readers as her audience. This led to the playful tone of her writing. And also her sentence structures include both active and passive sentences. She had complete thoughts with a subject and verb. Intended for young kids, the story was at fast pace which might have been to not bore the readers. In addition, Superfudge is a book for kids to allow them to enjoy what they read.

Journal Entry #4

For this author study project, I have chose to study about Judy Blume. Judy is my choice  because she is such an amazing author and writes many books for children my age. And not to mention, Judy Blume's books for children are genuinely funny. Her books that I am reading for the study is Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great and Superfudge. And yes, I have read some of her books prior to this assignment, which are: Fudge and Superfudge. What I know about my author is that she is New York Times best-selling author. Also her novels for children and young adults have exceeded sales of 80 million and have been translated into 31 languages. In addition, Judy is my selected author for the study.

Journal Entry #3

If I were to trade places with one person for a month, it would be Ariana Grande because she is very talented and gorgeous. If she were to be me, she would view my life as an intelligent 13 year old fashionista with many great friends. And if I were to her I would view her life as an incredible 20 year old actress, singer, songwriter with a great life. She is beautiful and has an amazing voice and is also a fashionista as well.

My day-to-day routines will be different as her's because I would always be in the studio to record songs and be busy. Her day-to-day routines will be different as mine because she would wake up at 5:30 A.M , get ready for school, and go to the bus stop at 7:00 A.M in the morning every week day to go to school then come back home at 1:30 P.M. Then after school depends on what other places I have to attend.

In addition, to The Prince and the Pauper, The Parent Trap (movie) will also be one of the examples for this situation.

So far I have learned that Mark Twain was an American writer and humorist who was originally named Samuel Clemens. He was born in Florida November 30, 1835 but his family later moved to Hannibal‚ Missouri‚ on the banks of the Mississippi River. There he worked as a printer’s apprentice for a local newspaper. His job was to arrange the type for each of the newspaper’s stories‚ allowing Sam to read the news of the world while completing his work.He later traveled to New York City and Philadelphia where he continued the work as a news paper worker but by 1857, Mark moved back home to work as riverboat pilot on the Mississippi River. Later Samuel became inspired to write. He traveled around as a writer and settled in Hartford, Conneticut and built a life.

Act 5 Summary

In Act 5, The Mechanicals presented their play (A Very Tragic Comedy About the Horrible Deaths of Pyramus and Thisbe) to the three married couples. (Theseus and Hippolyta; Lysander and Hermia; Demetrius and Helena). This was the last act of the play and it ended in a happy one because everyone had someone to love and Oberon and Titania made up. Last but not least, the mechanicals were able to present the play they have been waiting desperately to act out.

Act 4 Summary

Scene 1 -   Titania took Bottom to the fairy world to express herself more to him. Bottom took this advantage to enjoy good food and presence while Oberon was in hidden behind them. But as Titania and Bottom falls asleep, Oberon puts the second flower on Titania's eyelids to reverse the love potion. While Theseus, Egeus , and Hippolyta were roaming about in the forest and came upon the young lovers sleeping(Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius, and Helena). They woke up as they hear a horn blow. As they woke, Lysander gets back to his old self and admits to Theasues why Hermia and he were in the forest. Meanwhile Demetrius also admits why Helena and he were also there and says that he now loves Helena not Hermia. Theseus agrees to their feelings and decides to get the couples married on the same day and in the same temple as he and Hippolyta will.

Scene 2 -    Bottom wakes up and finds that Titania and the fairies has left him so he geos back to find his old friends. He does find them eventually and they talk on how to make the play possible. Then he reminds them that the duke and his wife already had dinner, so they need to get ready for the play.
